Brent MacFarlane

Brent is an RMT with a diverse educational and recreational background. He combines his understanding of anatomy, movement patterns, muscular strength imbalances, and postural faults to view every client’s case through a wide lens. This approach changes his focus from not only treating symptoms, but seeking the root cause of pain, limited range of motion, or “tightness”.

Brent's treatments focus on fascial techniques to stretch tissue, and traditional Swedish techniques applied at therapeutic pressure to relieve muscle tension. The final piece of this method is prescribing an exercise plan tailored to your goals and physical ability. This gives you control over making progress between visits.

The aspect of Massage Therapy Brent is most passionate about is helping people end their chronic pain and return to the activities they love.

Outside work Brent is a cycling enthusiast. Whether enjoying the beautiful views from the gravel roads of the region or flying through mountain bike trails, any day on two wheels is a good day.

Guilty Pleasure: Spending far too much time day dreaming about bikes and researching their parts. Then kicking myself for not spending that time riding my bike!

Favourite Food: The inside joke answer is whatever I am currently eating! In reality it’s almost impossible to decide. Fried chicken, various noodles and curries, meat in nearly every form.

Before becoming an RMT: I’ve dabbled in a few fields on my journey here. Commercial Pilot, Archaeologist, Professional Ski Bum. It’s a long story, but I’ve certainly learned to smell the roses along the way.
